OCULUS SANCTI

Terms of Service

What this is

Oculus Sancti is a live-data exploration globe — cameras, weather, aircraft, vessels, satellites, and other public data layered over a 3D map. Every account is free. Creating one means agreeing to the rules below.

This models places and events — not people

Every camera or sensor feed shown here is one its owner deliberately made public. This app has no license-plate readers, no face recognition, and no named-person search. It is not a tool for tracking, monitoring, or gathering information about a specific individual — using it that way is a violation of these rules and grounds for losing access.

The rules

Your activity is logged

Sessions, layers viewed, and locations searched are logged internally. This log is never published and never shared — you can see your own activity anytime via "My Activity." It exists so patterns matching known misuse (like narrow, repeated focus on one address) can be caught automatically; a flagged pattern leads to a plain, disclosed question about what you're doing, never an automated verdict.

An account can be revoked at any time for violating these rules. Revoking access preserves the account's activity history rather than deleting it. You can also permanently delete your own account and everything tied to it at any time, from Account → Settings → Delete Account — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that removes.

Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By signing up, you're confirming that you meet this requirement.

No warranty

THIS APP AND EVERY DATA LAYER IT DISPLAYS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ACCURACY. The live data it shows — cameras, weather, aircraft, vessels, and everything else — comes from third-party sources we don't control, and we make no promise that any of it is accurate, complete, or available at any given moment. Don't rely on it for decisions where being wrong could hurt someone (emergency response, navigation safety, or anything similar) — use an authoritative, purpose-built source for those instead.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, OCULUS SANCTI AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THIS APP — INCLUDING RELIANCE ON INACCURATE OR UNAVAILABLE DATA, OR ACTIONS TAKEN BY OTHER USERS — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THIS APP WILL NOT EXCEED FIFTY US DOLLARS ($50). You use this app at your own risk.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Oculus Sancti and its operator from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of this app, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any right of another person or entity.

Dispute resolution & arbitration

If a dispute arises that we can't resolve informally by emailing each other first, you and Oculus Sancti agree to resolve it through binding, individual arbitration rather than in court, except that either side may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead. YOU AND OCULUS SANCTI EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. If any part of this arbitration clause is found unenforceable, the rest of it still stands, minus that part.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date on this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where the arbitration clause above requires otherwise (the Federal Arbitration Act governs that section).
